Dr. Rosie Chen, is a compassionate Family Physician, with over a decade of primary care experience across both public and private sectors. She holds a Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore and a Graduate Diploma in Family Practice Dermatology.
Dr. Chen’s specialised skills include women’s health, geriatric care, and dermatology, making her adept at managing healthcare needs for patients of all ages.
Dr. Chen’s medical journey began at Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in China, where she earned her MD. Early in her career, she worked as a junior surgeon specialising in breast cancer treatment. During this time, her experience with end-stage cancer patients revealed the limitations of focusing solely on surgery and disease management.
Inspired by Singapore’s renowned family medicine training programs, Dr. Chen relocated to Singapore and joined the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency Program. Following her residency, Dr. Chen underwent a 24-month Advanced Specialty Training (AST) programme in Family Medicine, enabling her to deepen her expertise in both the physical and emotional well-being of her patients. Her dedication to comprehensive care led to her promotion to Associate Consultant at SingHealth Polyclinics, where she managed a wide variety of primary care cases. This role further sharpened her skills in personalized, long-term health management.
With a solid foundation in Singapore’s healthcare system, Dr. Chen transitioned into the private sector to continue serving the community.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Chen is passionate about educating future healthcare professionals. She serves as a part-time tutor at both the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School, contributing to the development of the next generation of doctors. She was also a tutor for the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) program.
Dr. Chen is currently practising at Boon Lay Clinic & Surgery.
