Our Pain Expertise

Pain Management

At DR+, our GP doctors are committed to providing effective pain relief through Singapore Paincare’s proprietary pathway in triaging and treating chronic and degenerative pain conditions. Together with our team of highly trained specialist pain experts, surgeons, and physiotherapists under Singapore Paincare group, we work together to alleviate pain, restore function, reduce limitations to daily activity, and improve your quality of life.

Minimally Invasive Procedures

We incorporate minimally invasive procedures in the form of specialised injections, into our comprehensive pain management approach. From pain assessment to diagnosis to the development of tailored treatment plans, you can place your trust in our hands.

How our minimally invasive pain treatments compare to the use of painkillers and conventional physical therapies?

Compared to the temporary relief offered by conventional physical therapies, our pain treatment approaches provide sustainable and effective solutions. By addressing the root causes of pain with minimally invasive procedures, we aim to minimise the need for long-term reliance on painkillers and reduce the risks associated with traditional open surgeries. We prioritise safer, cost-effective, and minimally invasive treatments that prioritise our patients’ well-being and comfort.

What are Singapore Paincare’s Minimally Invasive Pain Treatments?

Myospan are specialised injections used to treat various prevalent pain issues such as tension headaches, tennis/golfer elbow, plantar fasciitis, and joint pain as well as pain in the shoulder, knee, ankle, neck and back. These injections target muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and nerves to break the pain cycles, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing.

Depending on the type of pain conditions, different Myospan injections may be administered to either remove the pain generator or stop the pain signals.

Myospan injections are typically provided in a doctor’s clinic with the entire treatment taking a few minutes. A single treatment session is usually sufficient to achieve sustained pain relief; additional session may be repeated in six months or a year if necessary.

Myospan treatments include:

Myospan is available at all DR+ clinics and Singapore Paincare Center.

Neurospan is used to treat pain due to spinal causes. It treats pain with root causes due to slipped discs, bone spurs, and nerve compressions.

In cases of herniated discs, specialised needles and injections are used to decompress and shrink the discs using a vacuum effect to achieve the required volume reduction.

For pain caused by nerve compression or impingement, adhesiolysis may be used to “free” impinged nerves, thereby releasing scarred, and compressed nerves. This also desensitises the irritated nerve, lowers pain sensitivity, and prevents radiculopathy.

Examples of Neuropan procedures are

  • Neuroplasty
  • Nucleoplasty
  • Radiofrequency Ablation
  • Pulsed Radio Frequency
  • Intrathecal Pump Implants
  • Endoscopic Laser Decompression
  • Spinal Cord Stimulator
  • Epidural Analgesia

Patients who have been diagnosed by our GP doctors with pain due to a spinal issue, such as a slipped disc, bone spur, or nerve compression may be referred to our specialist clinic for further evaluation to determine the need for Neurospan treatment.

Neurospan is available at Singapore Paincare Center.
